The legendary actor Kamal Hassan's latest action thriller movie 'Vishwaroopam' crosses Rs. 100 crore (1 billion) mark in the box office collection and the numbers are keep increasing. In fact, the movie has now fetched more than 120 crores in just four days and all the theatres across Tamil Nadu have packed with full houses. Vishwaroopam, a multi-lingual movie (Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi) was acted, directed and produced by Kamal Hassan and it was made on a budget of Rs. 96 crores (almost 1 billion). Kamal Hassan played the lead role and the support cast includes Pooja Kumar, Andrea, Rahul Bose, and Shekar Kapoor. Shankar-Ehassan-Loy trio composed the music for this movie and Sanu Varghese handled the camera work. The movie had faced a lot of hurdles in India, especially in Tamil Nadu (Home State of Kamal) before its release due to some group of organization called for a ban of the movie due to its controversial content. But the Tamil version of the 'Vishwaroopam' movie got released only on last Thursday (2nd Feb, 2013), after the fringe group and Kamal Hassan has found the middle path. Kamal Hassan has been overwhelmed by the success of his movie and thanked his fans and media for their extended support during the difficult time.

Kamal Hassan, who has been in the Indian movie industry for more than five decades, went through many hurdles in his long career and he is known for it. This time things were even tougher for the actor, but at the end of the day, people come forward and supported the versatile actor, who gone through some toughest moments in the last few weeks due to ban on his action flick. Kamal Hassan has recently announced that 'Vishwaroopam-2' is on the cards within this year itself.
